Agadir, on Morocco's Atlantic coast, has a long sandy beach and mild winters, and it's around 4 hours from the UK — a strong budget alternative to the Canary Islands.

Agadir Al Massira (AGA) has direct flights from several UK airports with low-cost and leisure airlines; winter is peak season for these routes. Compare with Marrakech too — about 3 hours away by road — if fares there are cheaper.

Winter days are typically around 20°C, with cool evenings. Avoid UK half-terms and Christmas for lower prices. The Atlantic is cool year-round, so this is more a sunshine than a warm-sea trip in winter.

The seafront hotel strip is convenient; Taghazout, a surf village to the north, has hostels and guesthouses for budget travellers.
