Cheap flights UK to Marrakech: best months & airports
Updated October 2026 · by the HopCheap team
Marrakech is one of the best-value short-haul sun trips from the UK: roughly 3.5–4 hours' flying, direct routes from many UK airports, and riads and food that cost far less than a southern-European city break.
Which UK airports fly direct?
Direct flights to Marrakech Menara (RAK) are run mainly by low-cost and leisure airlines (such as Ryanair, easyJet, Jet2 and TUI) plus British Airways from London. London (Stansted, Gatwick, Luton, Heathrow), Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh and several other regional airports have had direct services. Schedules change by season, so search from 2–3 airports you can reach — a cheaper fare from a slightly further airport often beats the extra travel cost.

- Best weather: March–May and October–November — warm days, cool nights.
- Usually cheapest: January–February outside UK half-terms, and November outside half-term. Days are mild (often around 18–20°C) but nights are cold, so pick a riad with heating.
- Avoid if heat-sensitive: June–August regularly exceeds 35–40°C.
- Most expensive: Easter, October half-term and Christmas/New Year.
Entry and money
British passport holders can currently visit Morocco visa-free for up to 90 days; your passport should be valid for the length of your stay. The dirham is a closed currency, so you change money or withdraw it on arrival. Always check the FCDO Morocco travel advice before booking.
Budget tips
- Fly hand-luggage only — see our hand luggage guide.
- Agree the airport taxi fare before you get in, or pre-book a transfer through your riad.
- Riads inside the medina are atmospheric; Gueliz (the new town) is often cheaper and quieter.
- Use our flexible date tips — moving a trip by a few days can make a big difference.
